Vanaf nu is het mogelijk om de IGV Nederlands-Indië beeldbank te raadplegen op https://igv.nl/beeldbank/. Een bijzondere beeldbank.
Bijzonder, want de kaart van Indonesië geldt als de entree. Blauwe speldjes op de kaart verwijzen naar beeldmateriaal, met bijbehorende uitleg.
Dit is een nieuwe manier om naar beelden te zoeken en wij willen hiermee het raadplegen en uitwisselen van nieuwe informatie stimuleren en eenvoudiger maken.
Daarom nodigen we alle bezoekers van de website van harte uit om interessante (beeld)informatie over een plaats in Indonesië of Nederlands-Indië (en omstreken) die relevant is voor Indisch genealogisch onderzoek te delen. Wij zullen de beelden dan zo spoedig mogelijk op de kaart plaatsen. Bijdragen kunnen worden gestuurd naar de secretaris via secretaris@igv.nl.
Een mooi voorbeeld van het nut van deze plattegrond-gebaseerde beeldbank is het eerst geplaatste speldje op het oude Europese kerkhof van Tjilatjap, Kerkop Cilacap, op Midden-Java. Met veel dank aan mevrouw Karsiyah voor veel uniek beeldmateriaal en een uitgebreid indexdocument van grafschriften en grafbeschrijvingen.

As of now it is possible to visit the Dutch-East Indies database (also called ‘beeldbank’) at https://igv.nl/beeldbank/.
The map, serving as an entrance to the database, has a Dutch Indies appearance and contains blue markers that redirect to webpages containing imagery and/or text material about the city or place that the marker refers to.
With this database or beeldbank the IGV aims to facilitate the search for genealogically relevant information and to stimulate the discussion, consultation and exchange of information relevant to Dutch Indies/Indonesian genealogy about regions in Indonesia that have not been published before.
The IGV welcomes all website visitors to share interesting historical information they possess on a place in Indonesia with the IGV that the entire Indo community can prosper from. Contributions to the database can be made by sending a mail to the secretary at secretaris@igv.nl together with a description of the information you would like to share with the IGV. We will then consider your application and carefully implement it into the database.
One very fine example showing the potential of the map based database is the first marker placed at Cilacap cemetery in Middle Java. Thanks to the hard work of miss Karsiyah, the IGV was able to share unique imagery of and documentation on graves and tombs of citizens during the colonial time in Indonesia.
